Who Is FGN?

With over half a century of experience and passion building the highest quality instruments, FGN is considered the greatest guitar manufacturing company in Japan. Established in 1960, FUJIGEN has been manufacturing guitars and basses for the world's leading companies. As the original manufacturer, FGN is largely responsible for the high quality and success of many of the worlds most respected brands.

Today, FUJIGEN is expanding into a global market with the aim to establish the name, FGN, as its original brand. FUJIGEN prides themselves in the world of electric guitars with precision and attention to detail.

What are some Key features of FGN Guitars?

All FGN guitars and basses come with a unique Circle Fretting System (C.F.S.). It was created by them based on an idea to offer better pitch and articulation than conventional guitars and basses. All frets are installed on a fingerboard in slightly curved shapes, so that every string crosses all the frets at 90 degrees, i.e., to offer minimum contact of a string on a fret, and it makes the scale length of every string even, while it actually varies on conventional Straight fretting. (See Fig. 1). The C.F.S. is a solution of fretting on a traditional guitar and bass and it offers clearer articulation and tones which give dimension when you play a chord and also cuts through the mix when you play single notes.

In addition to our unmatched C.F.S frets we use a compound radius fingerboard that has smaller (rounder) radius towards nut while larger (flatter) radius towards neck end, i.e., similar to a shape of a cone. This allows for much easier chord playing at lower frets while having less stress, especially when bending strings at higher registers.
